One Utah lake off I-80 near the Utah and Nevada border contains Tilapia. The lake is Blue Lake and it contains some natural warm water springs that keep the water warm enough for the Tilapia to thrive even in the cold Utah winters. You can view the official information here.
Levi and I often purchase this mild fish. It's very delicious covered with a sauce that contains equal parts of mayo and sour cream, some dill weed, small amount of lemon juice and Parmesan cheese. Cook this under the broiler. YUM!
Now it appears that I can start catching my own tilapia.

Autumn 2007
Here are some fun pictures from Autumn 2007.
This first photo was taken in our front yard next to the most beautiful red bush.
The second photo is Anna playing with her ball in the back yard. I had raked all the leaves into a pile that she enjoyed running through and scattering the leaves.
The third and forth photos is Anna in her Halloween costume. She was a butterfly, complete with a butterfly wand.
In the final photo we were picking out a pumpkin. This photo was taken less than a month before Ian was born.

Atticus
This is Atticus. He weighs 17 pounds, and is 5 years old. He likes to lick plastic, play tag with Anna, steal food from Anna's high chair, begs for milk, plays with twisty ties, blocks my path, and plays with his stuffed animal Bageria.
This morning at around 4am, he located a plastic bag on my dresser. Over the next hour, he ruffled and licked that plastic bag all over. By the time I fully awoke from the noise, my nerves were rather tight. I chased him away from the plastic bag, then attempted to hide it away from him. Within moments, he had located a bag of diapers that he immediately started to ruffle and lick. I chased him away from this bag as well, only to find that he was determined to lick some kind of plastic. In all, I chased him away from 4 different noisy plastic type bags from the hours of 4am to 6am. Boy I'm tired today.
Even as I type this entry, he is sitting in front of the monitor trying to block my view. I have removed him from this location 3 times in the last 5 minutes. I know he just wants attention, but after the bag fiasco this morning, I'm not anxious to play with him.
If the kids don't drive me crazy, Atticus certainly will!

Grandma Beth Lloyd

This morning at 8:30am, my grandmother Beth Lloyd passed away at the age of 86. She is from Ontario Oregon, but had been living with my aunt in Price Utah for the last few years. She died with my aunt by her side.
She lived a long and very full life. She was a remarkable woman who blessed the lives of many people. I remember many trips to her home in Oregon. There was a scent to her home that I can still remember to this day. I don't know how to describe it, but it's something I'll always remember. She always had little treasures around her home for us to explore, and we loved those adventures. She wanted us grandkids to be happy, and she pushed us to make good decisions and live good lives.
It seems strange that in a little over a month, our family has lost two loved ones, and they both share the same name: Elizabeth Lloyd. I hope that in Heaven, they are together, free from pain, and are watching over the rest of us.
Goodbye Grandma. We love you and will miss you dearly!
*Update*
Here is a copy of Grandma's obituary.

Moonlight
While channel surfing a month ago, I came across a show that seemed quite intriguing. I had seen previews of it prior, but they didn't catch too much of my attention. The show is Moonlight on CBS. It's a story about Mick St. John. He's a vampire. He's handsome, charismatic, and exciting. He is a private investigator and tries to keep us mortal people safe. He is not happy about his vampire status and the way he was changed.
I'm not sure why the idea of a handsome blood sucker show is so appealing. For that matter, why did I devour each of the Stephenie Meyer's Twilight books days after they became available?
I suppose there is no need to try to understand why I take delight in vampire stories. For now I'll just keep enjoying them.
